About Us
Café @ All Saints opened a full decade ago, part of a pioneering project. Charged with rescuing the crumbling medieval church of All Saints in the centre of Hereford from destruction, the then-Priest in charge, Revd. Andrew Mottram, came up with the hugely ambitious plan of placing a top-class café into the middle of the working church and delivering delicious fresh food on a daily basis.
Extraordinary fundraising efforts from the modest-sized congregation, made the plan a reality, and in July 1997 Café @ All Saints opened its doors.
Owner Bill Sewell's philosophy is to serve wonderful food in beautiful spaces, something that he carries through to each of his cafes - he has two more in churches, including the newly opened Refectory at St Davids set in the cloisters of St Davids Cathedral, Pembrokeshire, and The Place Below, set in the crypt of St Mary le Bow church in the City of London.
Café @ All Saints prides itself on serving fresh, simple, homemade food of the best possible quality, at sensible prices in a friendly atmosphere. Everything served on the daily and seasonally changing menu is produced on site, even the bread. The Independent described Café @ All Saints as being one of the Top 50 Places to Eat for Under £50, describing the café as 'gloriously nourishing'.
